Privacy Policy
How your diary data is stored and shared
Last updated: 10 October 2026
SewMate is a tailoring-shop diary. This policy explains how the app handles the information you choose to save. No account is required.
Information you enter
You may save shop details, customer names, phone and WhatsApp numbers, addresses, family profiles, measurements, fitting notes, garments, orders, delivery dates, payment records, cloth photos and app preferences.
These records help you manage tailoring work, prepare bills and view reports. Payments are entries for money already received; SewMate does not process payments or request card or bank credentials.
Local storage and online access
Your diary is stored on your Android device or in the browser profile where you use the web app. SewMate does not provide a cloud diary service, send diary records to the developer, sell your records or include advertising or analytics trackers.
When you open the hosted web app, its hosting provider receives normal connection information, such as your IP address and requested web pages, to deliver the app. Once downloaded, the app can work offline.
Android automatic backups
Android may automatically back up or transfer app data according to your device, Google account and system backup settings. This is separate from exporting a backup in SewMate. Manage automatic backups in your device settings; Google and device-provider policies apply to those services.
Backups, sharing and printing
Exported JSON backups contain your diary, including customer and family details, measurements, orders, payments, photos and settings. Bills and payment CSV files contain the records included in that export. SewMate does not encrypt these exported files.
When you choose Google Drive, WhatsApp, another sharing app or a printer, the selected records or files are handed to that destination. Its own privacy practices apply. Share only with intended recipients and remove exported copies separately when no longer needed.
Photos and device permissions
The camera or photo picker is used when you choose a cloth photo. File pickers let you restore or save files. Printing may use Bluetooth, USB or your local network, with device permissions where required. SewMate does not automatically read your phone contacts or continuously access the camera. You can manage permissions in device settings.
Protecting your records
Your device and browser provide their normal storage protections. SewMate does not add encryption to its local database or JSON backups. Use a device lock, protect backup files and avoid sharing your browser profile or unlocked device with people who should not see the diary.
Keeping and removing data
Local records remain until the app or browser storage is cleared or otherwise removed. You can edit supported details in the app. To remove the local diary, use Android app-storage controls or clear this site’s browser data. Export a backup first if you want to keep a copy.
Uninstalling the app or clearing local storage may remove device records, but exported files, shared copies and Android backups can remain. Delete those separately through the service or device where they are stored. A system restore may bring backed-up app data back.
Customer and family information
SewMate is intended for tailoring-shop operators. Family profiles may contain information about children. Only enter, use and share customer or family information you are authorized to handle, and tell customers how your shop uses their details.
Changes to this policy
If an app update changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated with a new revision date. Review the policy when updating the app.
